This is my son’s second year playing hockey.  Although he was born in 2004, he played his first year of hockey, last year, as an over-aged Tim Bit player.  He could not even skate.  When we registered him to play this year, we were told he could not play Jr. Hurricanes because of his size.  As parents, new to hockey, the Novice division was very intimidating for us and him.  We enrolled him in your Summer Boot Camp and he managed to keep up with the kids although you could tell he was definitely new to the sport.  All the kids could skate backwards, but him.  Your coaches took the time to teach him and his confidence grew.  He then participated in your Christmas camp and now he’s not even the same kid on the ice.

He can confidently keep up with kids who have played for four years and is definitely the fastest backwards skater on his team. (Bruce mentioned that this was an important skill, so he took it to heart and practiced backwards skating whenever he could) He is looking forward to continue with your camps in the future.  He says that you work him hard but he loves being pushed.

Thank you very much for all of the work you put into developing kids, especially when they are far behind in skills.  Your coaches believe in all kids, regardless of their ability and work hard to build their skills. My son is catching up to his team mates very quickly and he is extremely confident on the ice.  It’s hard to believe that last year, he was still a tri-pod on the ice!

Once again, thank-you very much for all you do.

Just wanted to drop a line about the xmas camp. Alex had a great time. My husband and I were very pleased with the drills, organization and the guys that helped. It ran very smooth and was beneficial. Please keep us informed of Bruce’s other skates in 2012, we would be happy to attend more.

Great job! – Cory and Dawn

Thanks for an awesome spring camp. Conner has come a long way with his edging and balance and had lots of fun with you and your team. Great Stuff! -Rob Roy

Hunter absolutely loved this hockey school, he wishes it wouldn’t end! He learned so much and had a great time. As parents we also thought that this hockey school was fantastic, and would love to have Hunter attend anything Bruce has to offer. -T. Gudmundson”Bruce Bell coached my oldest son, Nick Ross, in L.A.A. Midget 15 yr. old. Today, 4 yrs. later, Nick says that Bruce is the best coach he ever had because of everything he taught him about hockey. I don’t think Nick would be where he is today, if it wasn’t for Bruce Bell. Nick Ross is a 1st round draft pick of the N.H.L. Phoenix Coyotes” -Rory Ross

Just wanted to tell you that Adam from High River had a ton of fun!! Last week at the Conditioning camp, the first day I think he was a little leary but the 2nd day he phoned me and told me how much he learned and how fast he could skate!

Thank you again…my husband and Adam really enjoyed the week and he said he can skate better than ever now.

We hope to come down next year as well, thank you again for teaching him so much in the week. -Sheri, Cory and Adam

It is the best hockey school my son has ever been to. You get 15 hrs. plus 1 instructor to every 4 kids for under $300.00. WOW. Best value for your money. You can see your child improve. -Dawn G.My son really thinks Bruce is the best teacher of hockey ever. As for myself, it makes me very happy to see my son enjoying hockey and seeing Bruce relate to him and all the kids is amazing! -John S.“Bruce Bell, in my opinion, is one of the finest coaches I have met in my career in hockey. I have had the pleasure to work with many players that have played for Bruce and each one spoke of how his teaching and coaching has made them a better player and person. He remains close to many of his former players and works with them in their off seasons.” -Jay Magnussen (Director of Scouting/Player Development – Okotoks Oilers (AJHL)

Hi Bruce/Darby.  We just wanted to send you an email to let you know how beneficial the hockey school was for Jordan.  The skills that you worked on seemed to be just what Jordan needed at the time.  We REALLY REALLY appreciated the demeanor with which all of the coaches dealt with the children.  It was very exciting for us to watch Jordan’s progress from week to week. Jordan was glowing for 3 days after Bruce complimented him at the BBQ and he can’t wait to do it again next year.  Thank you very much. -Steve, Danita and Jordan Neis
